A Holiday in Hallstatt

We stepped into the pages of a storybook in Hallstatt, Austria. We pulled up to the smallest train station I've ever seen, took a boat across the glass-like lake, checked into our B&B, which might as well be grandma's house, and enjoyed the BEST lakeside dinner. I can't get enough of the charm this town provides with flowers in every window, a great kindergarten (park) even adults can enjoy, icecream served on nearly every corner, and fresh fish caught daily on the lake. The day ends early when everything closes up at 7:00 pm and no tv to distract us. The town has quite the history with the oldest salt mine in the world and settlers dating back to prehistoric times. The sport shop allows you view the old Roman street level they dug up in their basement. Below is a picture of the town's main square.
